Ingredients And Substitutions
These are the main ingredients and substitutions for Banana Sushi. Scroll down to the recipe card for a full list of ingredients and instructions.
You can use any type of tortilla that you prefer. I used low carb tortillas from trader joes, but you can use regular, whole wheat, or even gluten free. Opt for a soft tortilla over a tougher one, this will make cutting it much easier.
For the spread you can use almond butter, peanut butter, hazelnut butter or sunflower seed butter and oat butter for nut-free options.
Use a soft and ripe banana over a green banana. This is going to be much sweeter and easier to eat!
I dipped my banana slices in melted chocolate and then dipped them in crushed freeze dried strawberries and finished them off with pistachios. This is totally customizable, so feel free to get creative and use your favorite toppings.

How To Make
ONE: Spread almond butter on a tortilla and place a ripe banana on one of the sides.

TWO: Tightly roll the banana in the tortilla and then slice into bite size pieces.

THREE: Dip the tops of banana slices in melted chocolate and then immediately dip in crushed freeze dried strawberries.

FOUR: Place on a plate and sprinkle with crushed pistachios and enjoy.
Tips And Tricks
Use a soft, bendable tortilla for best results. Gluten free tortillas will work as well, but the stiffer the tortilla is the more likely it will break when it’s rolled.
Use oat butter or sunflower seed butter to make this recipe nut free.
Feel free to add on your favorite toppings like freeze dried strawberries, toasted coconut, pistachios, etc.
