For the fresh herbs, this recipe using fresh dill, chives, and cilantro. You can also add in fresh basil if preferred.

A shallot will had a ton of flavor without being too overpowering.

High quality extra virgin olive oil is recommended for the best flavor.

Fresh lemon juice adds the perfect amount of tang.

I use low fat good culture cottage cheese, but you can use any brand that you prefer. This is going to add a nice creaminess and added protein boost.

Plain greek yogurt adds both protein and a delicious tanginess to this recipe. You can sub for any yogurt if you prefer, I recommend using unflavored.

Parmesan cheese is a must to really tie this dish all together.

How To Make

ONE: Start by boiling pasta do al a dente. Feel free to use any shape that you prefer.

TWO: Next, add in all the ingredients for the sauce to a blender with some pasta water and blend until smooth and creamy.

THREE: Add pasta sauce to a skillet over low heat and add in cooked noodles. Toss until fully coated, and mix in parmesan cheese.

Tips And Tricks

If you don’t have a blender you can use a food processor or an immersion blender.

If your sauce is too thick, you can thin it out by adding in more pasta water.

Add salt and pepper to taste, meaning taste your sauce and add in more as needed.

How To Serve And Store

Serve this Green Goddess Pasta Sauce warm and with a ton of freshly grated parmesan cheese. You can also add on some red pepper flakes for a bit of a kick if desired. This pasta taste amazing on it’s own, but you can also pair it with protein like steak, chicken or shrimp.

Store leftovers an in airtight container in the fridge and enjoy up to 3-4 days. Reheat in the microwave and serve with freshly grated parmesean cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup fresh dill
  • 1/4 cup fresh chives
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro
  • 1/2 shallot
  • 1/3 cup high quality extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup cottage cheese, I use good culture
  • 1/4 cup plain greek yogurt, I use greek god’s
  • 1/4 cup pasta water
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp salt, more if needed
  • 1/2 tsp pepper, more if needed

Directions

  1. Start by boiling pasta to al a dente. Feel free to use any shape that you prefer.
  2. Next, add dill, chives, cilantro, shallot, extra virgin olive oil, lemon juice, cottage cheese, greek yogurt, salt, pepper and pasta water to a blender and blend until smooth and creamy. Give it a taste to see if it needs more salt. 
  3. Add pasta sauce to a skillet over low heat and add in cooked noodles. Toss until fully coated, and mix in parmesan cheese.
  4. Serve warm with more parmesan cheese and enjoy!
