Ingredients And Substitutions

These are the main ingredients and substitutions for Guava Margarita. Scroll down to the recipe card for a full list of ingredients and instructions.

The main ingredient is Guava Nectar. Of course it’s always best to opt for fresh juice, but since guava’s aren’t readily available at my local grocery stores, I instead used Jumex Guava Nectar.

Tequila is the next main ingredient. I recommend using a blanco tequila (light colored) for this recipe. But feel free to use your favorite!

Pineapple juice adds a natural sweetness and added tropical flavors.

A touch of coconut cream adds a lovely creaminess that really elevates this margarita.

Lime is a must for the perfect amount of tang and acidity.

Sweeten it up with a touch of agave.

all the ingredients you need to make this margarita in individual containers.

How To Make

ONE: Rim a glass with salt. I used black salt that I picked up from my latest trip to Iceland. But any salt or even tajin will work. Place it in the freezer to chill the glass while you make the margarita.

TWO: In a shaker, add in guava nectar, tequila, pineapple juice, coconut cream, agave and lime juice. Add ice to the shaker and shake for 20-30 seconds.

THREE: Add fresh ice to the rimmed glass and then pour the margarita into it using a strainer. Garnish and enjoy immediately.

Tips And Tricks

Rim the glass with salt and place it in the freezer to chill the glass while you make the cocktail. This will result in an even colder drink.

Feel free to play around with the sweetness level by adding in more or less agave.

Fresh guava juice is encourage, but guava nectar works just as great.

If you want that traditional pink guava color, add in a touch of dragonfruit powder, or food coloring.

How To Serve And Store

Serve this Guava Margarita on the rocks in a chilled glass that is rimmed with your favorite salt. I used black salt for this.

This margarita is best enjoyed immediately. You can easily make a large batch ahead of time, just store it separate from ice until you’re ready to serve.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is the drink white? Isn’t Guava pink?

If using fresh guava juice then you’re more likely to have a pink drink. I do not have fresh guava’s local to where I live so I opted for Guava Nectar. You can add in dragonfruit powder or food coloring to make it pink if desired.

Do I have to add in the coconut cream?

No of course not.

What if I want my drink sweeter?

Add in more agave.
