ingredients and Substitutions

Strawberries are naturally sweet during this time of year with their peak of the season starting in April.

Blueberries are a great source of antioxidant and add a lovely texture to this fruit salad.

Bananas are great for digestive health and are also full of antioxidants. I personally love the creamy texture they add to this fruit salad.

Kiwis are personally one of my favorite childhood fruits. They are high in Vitamin C making them a great option for this salad. You can leave the skin on or take it off, it’s edible and full of nutrients too!

Raspberries add a sweet and tart flavor to this salad recipe, they are also high in omega-3 fatty acids and contain a mineral called manganese, which is necessary for healthy bones and skin and helps regulate blood sugar!

Red apples add the perfect crisp and crunch to this healthy fruit salad. I personally love honey crisp because they are always so refreshing, but feel free to use any type of red or green apple. If going with green, your salad will be a little on the sour side vs sweet!

The dressing

The dressing is made with Bee Keeper’s Naturals Superfood Honey which contains many nutrients. When picking a honey, check the back of the bottle and look for honey where there is only one ingredient- honey. Try to stay away from honey’s that contain corn syrup or artificial ingredients.

The second ingredient in the dressing is key limes which are a great source of Vitamin C and antioxidants. You can also use regular limes or lemon here.

Tips and tricks

Use fresh, seasonal fruits for best results.

The bananas and apples shouldn’t brown too much if they are well coated with the lime juice.

How to serve and store

Store in the fridge until ready to serve. Healthy fruit salad tastes best when served cold.

Enjoy at your next BBQ or gathering. Serve it as a side dish.

Store fruit salad in an air tight container in the fridge. Leftovers will last up to three days.
