Ingredients And Substitutions

These are the main ingredients and substitutions for No Bake Energy Bites. Scroll down to the recipe card for a full list of ingredients and instructions.

Use old fashioned rolled oats, be sure to use certified gluten free if necessary. Quick oats or steel cut oats won’t work the same.

Ground flax adds a great source of fiber and are great for digestive health or relieving constipation. You can omit these if preferred or sub for chia seeds.

A touch of vanilla extract adds a ton of flavor to any recipe.

Use dairy free chocolate chips to keep this recipe plant-based. Otherwise, you can use any type of milk or dark chocolate chips that you prefer.

I prefer using almond butter in my energy bites, however you can use any type of nut or seed butter that you’d like! Some other options include peanut butter, cashew butter, pecan butter or oat butter/ sunflower seed butter for a nut free option.

Honey is going to bind all the ingredients together due to its sticky nature, however you can also use agave or maple syrup for a vegan option.
