Peanut Butter Cottage Cheese Cheesecake- in a Jar
Peanut butter cottage cheese cheesecake in a jar is the ultimate no-bake dessert that’s creamy, nutty, and perfectly portioned. With layers of cookie crumbs, a smooth peanut butter cheesecake filling, and a rich chocolate topping, these jars are easy to make and even easier to love.

There’s just something about dessert in a jar that feels extra fun, right? These peanut butter cottage cheese cheesecake jars are giving me all the cozy, indulgent vibes without the fuss of baking. You blend everything up, layer it in your favorite little jars, and suddenly you’ve got a treat that feels way fancier than it actually is. Cheesecake jars have become one of my go-to’s when I want something quick but still special.
If you’ve tried my no bake cheesecake bites, cherry cheesecake brownies, or even my cheesecake overnight oats, you already know the magic of using cottage cheese as the base it makes everything super creamy and satisfying without needing a ton of steps. This peanut butter twist takes that same idea but makes it rich, nutty, and kind of Reese’s-inspired. The best part? They’re just as easy to whip up during nap time, in between work emails, or right before a friend comes over for coffee.

Everything That Goes Into These Cheesecake Jars
Cottage cheese – This is the base of the filling and makes it extra creamy. I love using Good Culture, but any brand you enjoy will work.
Greek yogurt – Adds a little tang and smooth texture. Plain works best, but you could swap in vanilla for a sweeter base.
Maple syrup (or another sweetener) – Maple gives a warm, rich sweetness. Honey or agave would also be great here.
Nut butter – Creamy peanut butter gives these jars their nutty flavor, but almond or cashew butter can easily be swapped in.
Vanilla bean paste or extract – Deepens the flavor and ties everything together. Either one works depending on what you have.
Cookies or crackers – I used Simple Mills Sweet Thins for the crust, but graham crackers, Oreos, or really any crunchy cookie will do.
Chocolate + coconut oil + coconut cream – Melted chocolate chips form the topping, with coconut oil to smooth it out and coconut cream to make it glossy. If you don’t have coconut cream, you can skip it or use a splash of heavy cream instead.

Assembling Your Cheesecake Jars
Crush the cookies. Add cookies to a zip-top bag or blender and crush until you have a fine powder. Set aside.
Blend the cheesecake filling. In a food processor, combine the cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, maple syrup, peanut butter, and vanilla. Blend for 30–45 seconds until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed.

Layer the jars. Spoon a layer of cookie crumbs into the bottom of each jar, then top with a generous scoop of cheesecake filling. Repeat if you’d like thicker layers.

Make the chocolate topping. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips with coconut oil in 30-second increments, stirring in between until smooth. Stir in the coconut cream until glossy and slightly thickened.

Assemble and chill. Pour the chocolate mixture over the cheesecake layer, smooth with the back of a spoon, and add a drizzle of peanut butter on top (swirl with a toothpick for a fun design). Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to set.
Serve and store. Enjoy chilled straight from the jar! Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 4–5 days.

Tips And Tricks For The Best Cheesecake Filling
- Use drippy peanut butter. The smoother the peanut butter, the creamier your filling will be. If yours is thick, microwave it for a few seconds to loosen it up.
- Mix up the crust. Sweet Thins are great, but graham crackers, Oreos, or even pretzels add fun twists. Go with whatever you’re craving.
- Add a swirl on top. A drizzle of peanut butter swirled with a toothpick instantly makes these jars look bakery-style with almost no effort.
Flavor Variations (and More on the Blog!)
One of my favorite things about cheesecake jars is how versatile they are. You can swap flavors based on your mood, the season, or just what you have in the pantry. I have over 10 different cheesecake jar flavors on the blog so definitely take a peek if you are looking for inspo. Here are a few fun twists you can try with this peanut butter version:
Chocolate Peanut Butter Swirl – Mix a tablespoon of cocoa powder into the filling for a richer, chocolatey base.
Banana Peanut Butter – Add thin banana slices between the crust and filling layers for a classic combo.
Salted Pretzel Crunch – Swap part of the crust for crushed pretzels and sprinkle a little flaky salt on top for that sweet-salty bite.
PB&J – Add a thin layer of strawberry, raspberry, or even my chia seed jam before the chocolate topping for a nostalgic twist.
How to Serve Them + Store Them
Serve: These jars are best enjoyed chilled straight from the fridge. You can keep them simple as-is or dress them up with a drizzle of extra peanut butter, a dollop of whipped cream, or a sprinkle of flaky sea salt on top. If you are feeling fancy, add sliced bananas or crushed peanut butter cups right before serving.
Store: Keep the jars covered in the refrigerator and they will stay fresh for 4 to 5 days. They set even better overnight which makes them perfect for meal prep or entertaining. I do not recommend freezing these jars since the texture of the dairy base can change once thawed.

Peanut Butter Cottage Cheese Cheesecake In A Jar
Ingredients
Filling
- 1 ½ cups cottage cheese (I like 2% low fat Good Culture)
- ½ cup plain Greek yogurt
- 3 tbsp maple syrup
- ⅓ cup peanut butter
- 2 tsp vanilla bean paste
Crust
- 1 cup Simple Mills Sweet Thins (or similar cookie/cracker base) (crushed)
Topping
- ⅓ cup chocolate chips
- 1 tsp coconut oil
- 1 heaping spoonful coconut cream ((about 3 tbsp))
Instructions
- Add the cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, maple syrup, peanut butter, and vanilla bean paste to a food processor. Blend until smooth and creamy, about 30–45 seconds.
- In a blender or food processor, crush the Simple Mills Sweet Thins into a fine crumb. You can also place them in a zip-top bag and crush with a rolling pin.
- Spoon a layer of cookie crumbs into the bottom of each jar. Follow with a generous scoop of the cheesecake filling. Repeat if you’d like thicker layers.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips with coconut oil in 30-second increments, stirring in between until smooth. Stir in the coconut cream until the mixture is glossy and slightly thickened.
- Pour the chocolate mixture over the cheesecake layer in each jar. Smooth the tops with the back of a spoon.
- Add a drizzle of drippy peanut butter and use a toothpick to drag through to create a design (if desired).

- Enjoy chilled straight from the jar! Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 4–5 days
Equipment
Notes
- The jars set best if you give them time to chill, so if you can, make them the night before you plan to serve.
- A high-speed blender or food processor will give you the smoothest filling. If you only have a regular blender, just pause to scrape the sides a few times.
- For a lighter chocolate layer, use milk chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet or dark. It will give the topping a softer, sweeter finish.

So delicious! Helped curb my hunger and satisfied my sweet tooth too. 😋
I’m just wondering how many this makes? is it 2?
hi there! I was able to get 3 8oz jars!
Would love to know where to find those cheesecake jars with lids and what size they are. Thanks!
Everything you make looks spectacular!
hi there! I have them linked on the recipe card 🙂 Hope you enjoy!!
These are delicious, I was trying to find nutritional information and couldn’t find any. Am I just not looking in the right spot?
so glad you enjoyed them!! I don’t provide macros for my recipes because it can vary widely depending on brands that are used. but i always encourage anyone to plug it into a macro calculator on google or use AI with the brands that you use! xx
This is the first recipe of your that I’ve tried, and it’s safe to say it won’t be the last — these are fantastic!! I can’t believe how creamy and silky the mixture got. Only one thing– maybe I just needed to go through them faster (I made a double batch), but the cookie crust got soggy and mushy in the later jars. I didn’t have Simple Mills, so perhaps it was the brand I used. I’m curious how long your cookies stay crumbly using that brand. Thanks so much for a great base recipe; I’m looking forward to my next round of cheesecake jars!
Hi Sarah! i’m so glad you liked them!! Using the simple mills crackers mine stay crumbly for 3-4 days! You can however prep the crust and sprinkle it on top before enjoying as a quick work-around. it’ll be more of an upside-down cheesecake but still so tasty nonetheless!
If I use chocolate graham crackers is it 1 cup crumbs?
Yes, it would be the same amount if using chocolate vs regular graham crackers.
