Ingredients and Substitutions

Old fashioned rolled oats work best for this recipe, you can use organic like I did, or certified gluten-free rolled oats to make this recipe gluten-free.

Chia seeds for healthy fats and omega-3’s that will help keep you full and satisfied.

Ground flaxseeds add both fiber and healthy fats to this recipe.

Coconut yogurt helps give this recipe that tart flavor that cheesecake has. You can use any type of dairy-free or dairy yogurt such as greek.

Almond milk or any type of nut milk, or dairy-free milk alternative. You can also use regular milk but this recipe won’t be dairy-free.

Maple syrup for a bit of sweetness, you can also use honey, agave, or date syrup.

How to make

ONE: Mix together organic rolled oats, chia seeds and ground flax seeds.

TWO: Add in yogurt, almond milk and maple syrup.

THREE: Mix well, cover and store for a minimum of two hours or overnight.

FOUR: When ready, top with fresh strawberries, and one crushed graham cracker and enjoy!

Taste and Texture

These overnight oats have a lovely texture that is creamy, thick and delicious. They aren’t overly sweet with only 1 tbsp of maple syrup, but the fresh juicy strawberries add a bit of natural sweetness as well.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long do these last in the fridge?

I have kept mine in the fridge for up to 5 days and they still tasted fresh. I wouldn’t keep them any longer than that though.

Do I have to eat these cold or can I warm them up the next day?

I prefer to enjoy these oats cold, but feel free to warm them up in the microwave the next morning.

Does the fruit get soggy if I store them with the oats?

Nope! However, I would only store 3 containers with fruit though. Or just add the toppings the morning of.

Can I store them with the graham crackers?

I wouldn’t because the graham cracker will get soggy. Instead, throw it on top when you’re ready to enjoy.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup organic old fashioned oats
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp ground flax
  • 1 tbsp coconut yogurt
  • 3/4 cup almond milk
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
Toppings
  • fresh strawberries
  • 1 graham cracker piece

Directions

  1. In a container with a lid, add in the oats, chia seeds and ground flax.
  2. Next, add in the coconut yogurt, maple syrup and almond milk.
  3. Mix until ingredients are well incorporated, cover and store in the fridge for a minimum of 2 hours or overnight.
  4. When ready, mix really well and top with fresh strawberries and graham crackers.
 

Notes

  • Overnight oats will stay fresh up to 5 days maximum.
  • Store fruit in the containers only for three days, otherwise add toppings the day of.
  • Overnight oats can be enjoyed cold or warm.
