10 Minute Stovetop Oatmeal- Sweetened with Banana

This is my favorite way to make oatmeal on the stovetop! It’s naturally sweetened with banana, so you don’t need to add any extra sugar. It comes together in just 10 minutes and makes a warm, creamy bowl of oatmeal that’s hearty, cozy, and perfect for customizing with all your favorite toppings.

Ingredients

Oatmeal

  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 cup old fashioned oats
  • 2 cups almond milk
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 Tbsp chia seeds

Toppings

  • peanut butter
  • goji berries
  • frozen blueberries
  • cacao nibs

Instructions

  • In a medium saucepan over medium/low heat, mash down one banana and then add in the oats, almond milk and water. Mix until well combined.
  • Stir in chia seeds and allow mixture to simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. The oats will start to get foamy, that’s okay. Just turn the heat lower if it gets too high and keep stirring.
  • When the foam is gone and the oats are cooked, remove from heat and stir in desired toppings.
