  • 2 Oz. Orange Liqueur (Triple Sec, or Cointreau (approximately ¼ Cup))
  • 2 Oz. Fresh Lime Juice (approximately ¼ Cup or 2 Limes)
  • 1 Tablespoon Light Agave Nectar
  • Cup Fresh Blackberries (approximately 3.5 - 4 Oz.)

For Large Batch Serving (makes approximately 8 cups):

  • 18 Oz. Clear (Gold, or Brown Tequila (approximately 2 ¼ Cup))
  • 12 Oz. Orange Liqueur (Triple Sec, or Cointreau (approximately 1 ½ Cup))
  • 12 Oz. Fresh Lime Juice (approximately 1 ½ Cups or 12 Limes)
  • 6 Tablespoons Light Agave (approximately ⅓ Cup)
  • 4 Cups Fresh Blackberries (approximately 21 - 24 Oz.)

Optional Garnish:

  • Fresh Blackberries
  • Jalapenos
  • Margarita Salt
  • Fresh Basil or Mint
  • Ice

Instructions

Individual Serving:

  • To a cocktail shaker, add the blackberries and agave nectar and muddle the blackberries to break them down and release the juice.
  • Add all remaining ingredients and shake well to mix.
  • Optional: Prepare your serving glasses by brushing the sides of the glasses with a small drop of agave nectar and roll in margarita salt to stick or simply fill the glasses with ice and your desired garnish.
  • Pour the strained cocktail shaker mixture into a glass over ice. Serve and enjoy!

Batch serving:

  • Add the blackberries, agave, and lime juice to a blender and blend until smooth. Strain the liquid over a large bowl or measuring cup using a fine mesh strainer to remove all pulp and seeds. Discard pulp and seeds. Add the strained blackberry mixture to a large pitcher.
  • To the pitcher add all remaining cocktail ingredients and stir to mix.
  • Add ice to the pitcher or pour the cocktail mixture into prepared glasses with optional garnish as desired. Serve and enjoy!

Mocktail Option:

  • To make this recipe alcohol-free, omit the tequila and replace the Orange Liqueur/Triple Sec/Cointreau with orange juice.
  • Sweetener Alternatives: If preferred, you can replace the agave nectar with honey.

Notes

  • Mocktail Option: Omit the tequila and replace the orange liqueur with orange juice for an alcohol-free version.
  • Large Batch Serving: The pitcher version makes approximately 8 cups and is perfect for parties and summer gatherings.
  • Sweetener Swap: Honey can be used in place of agave nectar if preferred.
  • Garnish Ideas: Try fresh blackberries, jalapeño slices, basil, mint, or a salted rim.
