Cinnamon Sugar Pretzel Bites

4 from 3 ratings

These Cinnamon Sugar Pretzel Bites are incredibly easy to make and are a much healthier alternative to the ones you get at the mall. They are soft, fluffy, buttery and filled with cinnamon and sugar. Enjoy with the lightened greek yogurt and maple syrup dipping sauce and enjoy.

Ingredients

Pretzel Bites

  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup plain greek yogurt (can sub vegan alternative)
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt

Cinnamon Sugar

  • 1/3 cup cane sugar (can sub coconut sugar)
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

“Cream Cheese Dip”

  • 1/4 cup plain greek yogurt (can sub vegan alternative)
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup (can sub honey, agave or date syrup)

Instructions

  • Start by making the dough by combining the greek yogurt, flour, baking powder and salt together. Mix with a spatula and then flour a clean working surface and knead the dough until it's no longer sticky. Don’t be afraid to add a touch more flour in needed.
  • Roll the dough into a large ball and then cut into four equal parts. Then, roll each section into a log and cut into bite sized pieces.
  • Boil water on the stove top and add in 1/2 tbsp of baking powder, stir until there aren't anymore bubbles.
  • Then, working quickly, drop in each pretzel bite, one by one, and let it sit in the water for only about 1-2 seconds before removing and placing on the air fryer rack or baking sheet, depending on cooking method.
  • Air fry at 350F for 8-10 minutes.
  • In the meantime, make the cinnamon and sugar mixture and then once the pretzel bites are done remove and toss in the cinnamon and sugar. If your coating doesn't stick, lightly coat each bite with your favorite oil spray, I used ghee.
  • Then, make the "cream cheese" dip by combining the greek yogurt and maple syrup together.
  • Dip and serve warm!

Notes

  • Don't be afraid to flour your hands or add a touch more of flour to your dough if it's too sticky. Add more as needed.
  • Only dip the dough bites in the baking soda water for a few seconds, try not to let it soak any longer than that. Working one by one is the best method for this.
  • If working in larger batches, use a spider strainer to remove the bites efficiently.
  • After the pretzel bites are done baking, quickly dip them in the cinnamon and sugar mixture. If the mixture does not stick, lightly coat the bites with your favorite oil spray, I used ghee.
