Ingredients

  • 1 + 1/4 cup all purpose or whole wheat flour
  • 1 Tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup plain greek yogurt
  • 1 egg for egg wash
  • Everything but the Bagel seasoning

Instructions

  • In a bowl, mix together flour, baking powder and salt.
  • Then, add in greek yogurt and mix with a spatula until a dough is formed. You may need to get in there and knead with your hands.
  • Once ingredients are well incorporated, roll the dough into a ball and place in the mixing bowl. Cover with a damp towel and allow to rest for 10 minutes.
  • Then, preheat oven to 375F and prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
  • When ready, remove the dough from the mixing bowl and place it on a clean, floured surface.
  • Knead once more and then roll each section into a ball. Use your finger to poke and create a hole in the center of each bagel and form into a large, semi flat bagel. See photos above.
  • Place them on the prepared baking sheet and brush each one with an egg wash, then sprinkle with seasoning. (an egg wash is egg whites mixed with a splash of water).
  • Bake for 25-28 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing into and enjoy!
  • Serve toasted with cream cheese or your favorite toppings.

Notes

  • Mix together dry ingredients before adding in the greek yogurt.
  • This dough tends to be sticky, so don't be afraid to flour your hands more than once.
  • Use dairy free yogurt to make these dairy free and vegan.
  • Feel free to customize them by adding on different seasonings before baking.
