Ingredients

  • 4 cups frozen blueberries
  • 1 box of gluten free yellow cake mix (can sub regular)
  • 1 cup grass-fed butter (can sub dairy free)
  • vanilla ice cream (optional but encouraged)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350F.
  • Melt butter in a medium bowl and then mix in the cake mix until you have a thick batter.
  • Add frozen blueberries to a baking dish, then drop on the cake batter and spread evenly.
  • Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until edges are golden brown and the center is set.
  • Allow to cool for 10 minutes and enjoy with vanilla ice cream.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge and enjoy up to 4-5 days. Reheat in the microwave for 3-45 second or until it's heated all the way through.
  • Let it cool before serving. Allow the dump cake to rest for at least 10–15 minutes after baking. This gives the blueberry filling time to thicken slightly, making it much easier to scoop while still serving warm.
  • Serve it warm. This dessert is at its best fresh from the oven with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. The contrast between the warm, buttery topping and the cold ice cream is what makes this recipe so irresistible.
