Coconut oil will help liquify the mixture creating that smooth and creamy texture.

Vanilla extract adds a lovely flavor.

A touch of salt to balance out all the flavors.

My secret ingredient is adding in a touch of instant coffee to help rich and deepen that chocolate flavor.

How To Make

ONE: Start by roasting the raw hazelnuts in the oven at 375F for 12-15 minutes. Once roasted, let cool for 5 minutes before transferring to a clean towel. Wrap the nuts up in the towel and rub for about 5 minutes to remove the skin.

TWO: Add the roasted skinless hazelnuts to a food processor or blender and blend until you have a nut butter. Depending on your appliance, this can take anywhere between 10-15 minutes.

THREE: Once you have a hazelnut butter, add in the remainder of the ingredients and blend once more. Pour into a dish with an airtight lid and enjoy!

Tips And Tricks

Using roasted hazelnuts is going to naturally produce an oil and create and smooth and creamy spread.

The skins don’t need to be 100% removed. You’ll be fine as long as majority are removed.

The more skin that is removed, the creamier your nutella will be.

Depending on the appliance you are using to blend the nuts together, you may need to add in more coconut oil to create a cream texture.

How To Serve And Store

Serve this Homemade Healthy Nutella on toast, in desserts, cookies, on top of oatmeal, yogurt bowls, ice cream, or just eat it straight out of the jar with a spoon- no judgement here.

Store in an airtight container in a cool dry place, like the pantry. Enjoy within 10-14 days.

a spoon dipped into the chocolate butter.

Taste And Texture

This Homemade Healthy Nutella tastes just like the real thing. It’s slightly less sweet, but you can add in more sugar or sweetener if preferred.

The texture is smooth, creamy but slightly grainy.
