I used a blend of five simple seasonings, all of which i’m sure we all have in our pantry right now. These french fries are thick cut and taste amazing with your favorite ranch or ketchup dipping sauce.

The key to getting the perfect french fry
The key to achieving the perfect french fry that is both crispy on the outside but tender on the inside is all in the cut. You want to make sure these fries are thin enough to cook all the way through. I like to settle on a medium thickness at about 1/4 of an inch.
Another key is to make sure you don’t over-crowd your air fryer. For instance, you want them on a single layer and not touching. This will ensure that the air reaches every inch of the fry, giving it that perfect golden brown color and taste.
You may need to stop and toss your fries halfway through, depending on the air fryer that you have. I have this air fryer from GoWise, which allows the air to circulate and touch every inch of the fry, so I don’t have to toss halfway through. Just keep this in mind, as not all air fryers are created equally!

how to make air fried french fries
making french fries in the air fryer has never been easier! follow these few simple steps and you’ll be so impressed with your restaurant style french fries, I guarantee it!
To start, make sure you wash the potatoes really well. I like to use the fruit and veggie wash from trader joes. Potatoes come out of the dirt, so you want to make sure they are really clean before cutting into!
Cut the russet potato in half, then lay the potato facing down start to cut out the french fries. You want to aim for about 1/4 of an inch in thickness.
Place the fries in a large mixing bowl and drizzle with olive oil and the five seasonings. Toss really well until each individual fry is well coated with both oil and seasoning.
Next, place the fries inside your air fryer on a single layer. Make sure there is enough space between them, you don’t want the fries touching. This will ensure that the hot air reaches every inch of the fry giving it that perfect golden brown color and crispy finish.
Air fry the fries at 430F for 15 minutes. Carefully remove from the air fryer and serve with your favorite dipping sauce!
