Air Fried Sweet Potato Chips

A healthier alternative to a potato chip
Air Fried Sweet Potato Chips are much healthier than your average potato chip. I know that sweet potatoes are often referred to as being healthier than white potatoes, but in reality, both types can be highly nutritious. Feel free to use a white potato for this recipe rather than a sweet potato if you’d like. Both work great and both are delicious and good for you.
Sweet Potato vs Russet Potato
- Sweet and regular potatoes are both root vegetables. They’re distantly related but come from different families.
- Both of these potatoes are rich in fiber, carbs, and vitamins, such as B6 and C. However, white potatoes are higher in potassium, whereas sweet potatoes contain more vitamin A.
I welcome potatoes into my diet because they are delicious and they make me happy. Most potato chips that you get at the store are fried and container a ton of oil and other processed ingredients. Making your own potato chips at home is so easy and much more satisfying.

Ingredients in sweet potato chips
You won’t need a ton of fancy ingredients for this recipe. It’s really quite simple and straight to the point. This recipe is also very versatile as well. You can use any seasonings that you prefer, I chose Everything but the Bagel Seasoning because it’s full of flavor and delicious, but you can use whatever you’d like.

How to make air fried chips
Sweet Potato Chips
Air fried sweet potato chips are so easy to make, you’ll be surprised at how quickly they come together too. I love to make a cream cheese dip to go along with them, but feel free to skip this step or use your own preferred dipping sauce.
To start, wash the sweet potatoes and scrub the skin really well to remove any dirt and impurities. Dry the sweet potato and then slice the sweet potato into very thin slices, about 1/8 of an inch.
Add the sliced sweet potatoes to a large bowl and pour the avocado oil and seasoning on top. Mix with tong really well until each slice of sweet potato is well coated with oil and seasoning.
Next, add the sweet potatoes in a single layer in the air fryer and fry at 400F for 15-20 minutes or until the edges are crispy but not burnt. Depending on the air fryer that you have, you may need to toss the sweet potatoes halfway through for even cooking.
That’s it- so easy and only three ingredients! As mentioned previously, I like to make a cream cheese dip to go with them. This dip is just as easy to make as the chips were. You only need a few ingredients and a blender, (for quicker combining), or you can use a potato masher.
Cream Cheese Dip
To make the cream cheese dip to go along with these sweet potato chips, simple combine all the ingredients in your blender or add to a bowl, whichever method you prefer.
Mix ingredients until they are well incorporated, and add to a serving bowl.
So simple- but so good!
