How to Make
Add the cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, maple syrup, vanilla, and fresh strawberries to a food processor. Blend until smooth and creamy.

Add the freeze-dried strawberries and pulse just until combined. Transfer the cheesecake mixture to the refrigerator while you prepare the crust.

Add the chocolate cookies to a blender or food processor and blend into a fine crumb.

Assemble the jars by adding a layer of chocolate crust, followed by the strawberry cheesecake mixture, then a spoonful of melted chocolate on top. Refrigerate for 10 minutes to set.

Finish with whipped cream and a fresh strawberry, if desired.

Tips and Tricks
- Blend the base longer than you think. A full 45–60 seconds in the food processor is key to getting that ultra-smooth, classic cheesecake texture from the cottage cheese.
- Chill the cheesecake layer before assembling. Letting it sit in the fridge while you prep the crust makes the layers cleaner and easier to spoon.
- Don’t over-mix the freeze-dried strawberries. Pulse just a few times so you keep little pops of strawberry throughout the jars.
- Let the chocolate topping cool slightly. Warm but not hot chocolate creates a prettier top layer and won’t melt the cheesecake underneath.
How to Save and Store
Store assembled jars tightly covered in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. These are perfect for making ahead for Valentine’s Day, hosting, or quick weeknight treats straight from the fridge.

Chocolate Covered Strawberry Cheesecake Jars (with Cottage Cheese)
Ingredients
Cheesecake Layer
- 1¼ cups cottage cheese (Good Culture recommended)
- ½ cup Greek yogurt (I use Fage 5% for the creamiest texture)
- 3 tbsp pure maple syrup
- 1 tsp vanilla bean paste (or vanilla extract)
- 1 cup fresh strawberries (sliced)
- 1 cup freeze-dried strawberries (optional, but highly encouraged)
Chocolate Crust
- ½ cup Simple Mills Chocolate Thins, crushed (can sub Oreos with the filling removed)
Chocolate Topping
- ⅓ cup chocolate chips
- 1 tsp coconut oil (for smoother melting)
Instructions
- Add the cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, maple syrup, vanilla, and fresh strawberries to a food processor. Blend until smooth and creamy, about 45 seconds.
- Add the freeze-dried strawberries and pulse just until combined. Transfer the cheesecake mixture to the refrigerator while you prepare the crust.
- Add the chocolate cookies to a blender or food processor and blend into a fine crumb.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips and coconut oil in 30-second intervals, stirring well between each round, until smooth.
- Assemble the jars by adding a layer of chocolate crust, followed by the strawberry cheesecake mixture, then a spoonful of melted chocolate on top.
- Refrigerate for 10 minutes to set.
- Finish with whipped cream and a fresh strawberry, if desired.
Notes
- Full-fat Greek yogurt gives the creamiest texture and most “real cheesecake” feel.
- Simple Mills Chocolate Thins work great for the crust, but Oreos with the filling removed are a fun swap for a more classic dessert flavor.
- You can easily double this recipe to make a larger batch for parties, Galentine’s night, or meal prep desserts for the week.

Wow! Just made these for a healthy treat and my family loved them!! So delicious! 10/10

These did not cause my sugar to spike at all. 🙌🙌🙌
I did have one tiny issue…the chocolate hardened before I could get it to cover the top of them, but it definitely didn’t affect the taste. 😜😂
This recipe is for SURE a keeper! 🙃
An easy 10 out of 10 🩷
These were so delicious. I used a homemade chocolate crackers for the crust and it paired so nicely with the strawberry filling. They are so good and really satisfying after a heavy dinner. Thank you for the recipe xx
I made this today. I didn’t have anything to make the crust but that’s fine and I didn’t do the chocolate because I ran out of energy but I used chocolate whipped cream on the one I ate after dinner and it was so yummy. I will do the chocolate for the others that are in the fridge tomorrow.
Soo tasty, but it turned out really runny? Where did I go wrong?
Hi Caitlin, a few things that could have gone wrong. 1. overblending can create a more watery cheesecake and 2. the type of cottage cheese and greek yogurt that is used. I find good culture cottage cheese and fage greek yogurt to be the thickest.
This is the second time I’m making this dessert. It’s delicious! Thanks so much! How long does this last in fridge or can you freeze it?
So glad you’re enjoying it! 3-4 days in the fridge and you can freeze it but it’s best to turn it into a ninja creami if you have one, as cottage cheese doesn’t freeze well on it’s own and I imagine it would be watery!
