You can use fresh or frozen mixed berries or just your favorite fruit in general. I like to use frozen as it’s more cost efficient and adds a better flavor and texture.
Chia seeds help bind the ingredients together giving this recipe that jelly like texture without gelatin.
Lemon juice adds a touch of tang and also helps balance out all the flavors.
You can leave the chia jam as is with those three ingredients, or you can add in a splash of sweetener like maple syrup, honey or agave.

How To Make
ONE: Add in the fresh or frozen mixed berries to a medium saucepan over medium to low heat. Allow to simmer for 3-4 minutes stirring occasionally.

TWO: Once the berries are soft, you a fork or potato masher and crush the berries until there are little to no chunks left. Feel free to add the mixture to a blender to really break down the ingredients.


THREE: Then, remove from heat and mix in the chia seeds, lemon juice and maple syrup. Let sit on the stove for 5 minutes to thicken before using and enjoy!

Tips And Tricks
Use frozen berries for a more cost efficient jam.
Add the heated berries to a blender for a few seconds to really break up any clumps, otherwise using a fork or potato masher works just the same.
Feel free to add in a touch of sweetener if preferred, I like adding in maple syrup.
Use any type of fresh or frozen fruit to create your own flavor such as, blueberries, raspberries, cherries, strawberries, peach, etc!
How To Serve And Store
Serve this chia seed jam inside cookies, on top of toast, inside oatmeal bowls or in smoothies. Use it as the jelly inside of a peanut butter jelly sandwich! It would even taste amazing layered inside these overnight oats instead of the cranberry sauce or used on top of pancakes!
Store in an airtight container and enjoy within 7-12 days. You can also use weck jars, mason jars, these glass jars with plastic lids, or these glass jars with a bamboo lids.
