Ingredients And Substitutions

These are the main ingredients and substitutions for Baked Turkey Sliders. Scroll down to the recipe card for a full list of ingredients and instructions.

What sets these sliders apart from anything else is the Hawaiian rolls. These are soft, chewy and incredibly delicious. Opt for a gluten free version if necessary.

I personally love turkey breast, but you can also use ham, chicken, beef, etc! I prefer grabbing my deli meat from the deli counter at the store for best results.

For this recipe I used pepper jack cheese for a touch of spice, but feel free to use your preferred cheese instead like swiss, provolone, cheddar, american, etc!

Worcestershire sauce adds a tangy, savory, sweet, and salty flavor to these rolls, it’s a wonderful balance of flavors and I highly recommend adding it in if you can. However, if you don’t have it in hand you can simply skip it.

The sauce on top is made with melted butter, dijon mustard, fresh parsley and a few seasonings like garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt and pepper. This is my preference, but feel free to add on your favorite seasonings as well.

How To Make

ONE: Preheat the oven to 350F and prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper or foil. Then, without pulling the rolls apart, slice them in half horizontally. Place the bottom half of rolls on the prepared baking sheet.

TWO: Evenly layer on half of the turkey to cover the entire bottom portion. Then, repeat with the pepper jack cheese, and again with the remaining turkey. Cover with the top portion of the rolls and set aside.

THREE: In a medium bowl, mix together the melted butter, worcestershire sauce, freshly chopped parsley, salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder.

FOUR: Evenly brush the sauce over the tops and sides of the rolls. Then, cover with another piece of parchment paper or foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove the parchment paper and bake for 3-5 minutes. Allow to rest for 2-5 minutes before serving.

Tips And Tricks

Don’t pull the rolls apart, simply cut them in half horizontally while they are still stuck together.

Layer on as much meat and cheese as your heart desires.

Feel free to add on your favorite toppings like pickles, tomatoes, red onion, etc.

When ready to serve, use a serrated knife knife to cut the rolls into single portions which will make grabbing them much easier!

Be sure to cover the sliders before baking with parchment paper or foil, so that the tops don’t burn.

How To Serve And Store

Serve these Baked Turkey Sliders once they are cool enough to handle, just about 3-5 minutes out of the oven. Enjoy with air fryer french fries, carrot fries, pasta salad, or fresh fruit!

Taste And Texture

What’s not to love about these Baked Turkey Sliders! They are soft, and chewy but crispy on the edges and loaded with warm deli meat and melty cheese. The tops of these rolls are coated with butter and dijon mustard making them have a ton of flavor! They are drool worthy!!

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you make these ahead of time?

These Sandwich Sliders can be assembled the night before baking. Store them covered in the fridge until you’re ready to bake them. I’d recommend adding on the sauce right before cooking though to avoid a soggy slider.

Can I use different meat instead of turkey?

Absolutely! You can use any type of deli meat/cheese combo that you prefer. I just recommend grabbing fresh deli meat from the counter.

Can I make these gluten free?

Yup! Opt for a gluten-free roll instead.

What else can I put in these sliders?

Add on your favorite toppings like pickles, tomatoes, onions, or even pesto like my nut-free basil pesto!
